STATMENT
In his “landscape”, Marco is amused and interested in the serenity of men’s artificial ornament. This decorative elements are bend sometimes to industrial productions sometimes are the results of artisanal productions from the landworks. In this way, Marco, in his work is interested in the geometry created by human activity in the Tuscan’s country side. His interest for the children’s landscape image composition and the use of sheets of drawing paper is the necessary boundary to the research activity as a painter.
The traditional medium of the oil technique is from one side a glimpse to his artigianal profession as a painting conservator and on the other side the necessary boundary to the research activity as a contemporary painter. The canvas is the element that constrain his imagination and at the same time make it possible. The use of spray paint complete and expand the possibility of expression of the gesture.

BIOGRAPHY
Marco Scarpelli lives and works in Florence and Prato. He comes from a family of conservators and is a painting conservator himself. He mastered his skills attending the family conservation of paintings laboratory and the Academies of Florence and Bologna and achieved a degree in Visual arts in 2009. His daily contact with the artworks of the past suggested him the theme of painter’s work, and the dignity of painting, namely an intransitive and “unnecessary” activity.

2017 Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Graduated in conservation of paintings.
2010 Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Graduated in Visual Arts (Honors)

CONFERENCES
In 2016 I have been invited at the Asia University Museum of Modern Art in Taipei, Taiwan as a speaker; the topic: “current Italian contemporary art scene, the trend in the world and their influence on Taiwan’s art community”.
I participated as a young artist in occasion of my personal exhibition at Gallery Sun in Taipei, at the Art Salon Forum in Art Taipei.
